India Celebrates 26 January as Republic Day with Pride and Patriotism

New Delhi, 26 January — India celebrated its 76th Republic Day today with grand ceremonies and nationwide events, marking the adoption of the Constitution of India on 26 January 1950.

The main celebrations took place at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, where the President of India unfurled the national flag and took the salute during the annual Republic Day parade. The parade showcased India’s rich cultural diversity, military strength, technological progress, and unity through colourful tableaux from different states and ministries.

Across the country, schools, colleges, government institutions, and local communities organised flag-hoisting ceremonies, cultural programs, and patriotic performances. Citizens paid tribute to freedom fighters and honoured the values of democracy, justice, liberty, and equality enshrined in the Constitution.

Awards for bravery and distinguished service were also presented, recognising individuals for their exceptional contributions to the nation. Security forces and emergency services played a key role in ensuring peaceful celebrations nationwide.
